ABOUT THE CABINET

An Ode to Furniture

This project in collaboration with the Röhsska museum of Design in Gothenburg was inspired by their collection of 18th century furniture. In this century furniture was often a symbol of good taste, money and status. The elites commissioned very special pieces of furniture made by the best craftspeople. Reimagining the glamour and opulence of that era, the focus was on the special qualities furniture can have and the positive impact that a piece of furniture can give to a room and thus to the people in it. By giving attention to detail and combining painting with a contemporary functional furniture, this Cabinet is elevated to something more than just an object that makes a space suitable for living.
