Lasse Elsenburg

About

Lasse Elsenburg, a Dutch born Designer, first trained as a Cabinetmaker and Furniture Designer in the United Kingdom at Waters & Acland Furniture School. This school, strongly rooted in the Arts & Crafts tradition, offered the opportunity to learn from both Cabinetmakers and Designers. After completing his year at Waters & Acland he continued his studies at the University of Gothenburg (Sweden). Enrolling in a material and making based furniture design programme enabled Lasse to broaden his knowledge of design and sharpen his skills in the design process. It challenged him to further understand and develop personal beliefs and values that he wishes to represent through his work.

With enthusiasm Lasse connects conceptual and hands-on work. He has a deep appreciation for the psychological aspects of design. His work evolves around two key points, creating for humans and achieving a relation between the position of the work both temporally and geographically.
He is mindful on the impact of his work – both on the natural and social environment and has a growing interest in architecture and community based projects and in movements such as Degrowth and Slow living.
